PhishGuard AI — Free Phishing Detection & Cybersecurity Scanner
By Spenaxis · Independent cybersecurity research and education
PhishGuard AI is a free, browser-based cybersecurity toolkit built by Spenaxis to help individuals, families, students, and small businesses defend themselves against the modern wave of phishing attacks, malicious links, fraudulent websites, and software vulnerabilities. Every tool on this site is designed around a single principle: practical security should not require expensive enterprise software, specialist training, or a paid subscription to be accessible.
Phishing remains the most common entry point for cybercrime worldwide, responsible for the majority of credential theft, ransomware infections, and corporate data breaches reported each year. Our suite of scanners uses large-language-model reasoning combined with deterministic security checks to evaluate the messages, links, web applications, and source code you submit, and to explain — in plain English — why something is or is not safe.
What you can do on PhishGuard AI
- Message Scanner — Paste any suspicious email, SMS, WhatsApp message, or social-media DM. The AI analyses tone, urgency cues, sender plausibility, suspicious links, and known phishing patterns, then returns a verdict with a written explanation and recommended next steps.
- Link Checker — Submit any URL to evaluate redirect chains, domain reputation, hosting signals, certificate validity, and typosquatting patterns before you click. Useful for QR codes, shortened links, and links received from strangers.
- DAST Scanner — Dynamic Application Security Testing for live web applications. Detects common OWASP Top-10 issues such as missing security headers, exposed admin paths, insecure cookies, mixed content, and information disclosure.
- SAST Scanner — Static Application Security Testing for source code. Identifies hard-coded secrets, dangerous functions, injection risks, weak cryptography, and insecure dependency patterns across common languages.
- Cybersecurity Education — A free 19-lesson curriculum covering phishing, password hygiene, multi-factor authentication, social engineering, safe browsing, mobile security, and incident response. A premium CompTIA Security+ preparation course is also available for learners pursuing certification.
- GRC Compliance — Guided checklists mapped to NIST CSF, ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR so small organisations can self-assess their security and privacy posture without hiring a consultant.
- News & Daily Tips — A continuously updated feed of cybersecurity news with AI-generated plain-language summaries, plus a short daily tip and quiz to reinforce safe online habits.
Editorial standards and content policy
All written material on PhishGuard AI — including scan explanations, educational lessons, news summaries, and guidance documents — is reviewed for accuracy against authoritative sources such as the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, OWASP, the MITRE ATT&CK knowledge base, ENISA advisories, and vendor security bulletins. References are cited where applicable. We do not publish thin, auto-generated, or filler content, and we do not host adult, violent, hateful, or otherwise restricted material. The platform is intended to be safe for general audiences, including educational use.
Privacy and advertising
PhishGuard AI is funded primarily by an optional Pro subscription and by a small number of Google AdSense placements on content pages. Ads are never shown on scanner input screens, scan-result pages, or any utility view where they could be confused with security information. Cookie consent is required before any advertising or analytics requests are made. Full details are available in our Privacy Policy, and the people behind the project are described on the About page.
